We are partnering with a well-established food manufacturing company in Peabody, MA, seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join their growing team. This role ensures the smooth operation of production equipment and facility systems in a fast-paced, high-quality food processing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery including conveyors, motors, packaging systems, refrigeration support equipment, and auxiliary systems
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using appropriate tools (e.g., multimeters)
• Conduct general building maintenance including lighting, plumbing, HVAC support, and minor structural repairs
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, manuals, and work instructions to complete maintenance tasks accurately
• Respond efficiently to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, identifying root causes and implementing long-term corrective actions
• Support preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
• Safely operate material-handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts
• Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, parts usage, and maintenance activities using a CMMS
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, SQF, and other food industry regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to proactively identify and resolve maintenance issues
• Assist with after-hours or weekend maintenance coverage as needed
• Perform additional duties and projects related to facility and equipment maintenance

What Our Client Is Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or maintenance certification preferred
• Minimum of 2+ years of industrial or facility maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and basic HVAC support
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer proficiency for work order entry and parts tracking
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and food manufacturing regulations (USDA, SQF)
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or modified schedules as needed
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, but not required
